News & Events» Arena has new ticketing serviceNews Date: 7/17/2009 WENATCHEE — ShoWare™, in Fresno, Calif., was selected as Town Toyota Center's new ticketing service. ShoWare™ will replace Global Entertainment's ticketing system, GetTix, when the contract ends in September. On Thursday, the Public Facilities District board selected ShoWare™ out of 16 companies that submitted proposals, including GetTix. A PFD subcommittee had been created to look at the various proposals, narrow down the selection and then check references, said Allison Williams, the city's executive services director who also serves as support staff for the PFD. Acting City Clerk, Brenda Guske, told the PFD board that she did the reference checks for ShoWare™, and the runner-up, TicketMaster. "I got unsolicited recommendations from everyone I called about ShoWare™," she said. Additional selling points for the service were consumers' ability to go online and choose their own seats and to print a ticket. Guske explained that the arena would also have the ability to cap the fees. "Some of the really big concerts can charge substantial fees," she said. "But the way the fee structure is set up, we would be able to keep those down for the consumer." Williams said in June that many people had complained to city and arena staff about the high fees associated with GetTix, as well as not being able to select their seats online. Williams said after the meeting that ShoWare™ will begin on Sept. 4.
